agenda for election 2014

As General Election 2014 is nearing every political party is busy in making big promise and trying to draw the attention of public towards them. General election is the biggest festival of a democracy specially a participative democracy where stake of a common man is more or less limited to casting vote once in a five year. It’s a chance of every adult to express the values, ideals they stand for and what they want from their law makers. Keeping this argument in mind it’s very important for people to set agenda, issues for general election and hence selecting appropriate government. Today the major problems our country facing are price –rise, increasing gap between labour and middle class, high unemployment rate and more importantly very high hidden unemployment (for example if one person is sufficient to do the job and two person are doing the job then one person is suffering from hidden unemployment), productivity of capital investment and human resource use, increasing crime graph and all time high corruption and opaque system and arbitrary process of decision making. Most of the problems can be tackled by boosting Indian economy in Indian way. Increasing proportion of manufacturing in GDP so that more jobs are created and unemployment rate goes down. At the same time we need to check the harassment of labour and executives by big corporate. We also need to make small blocks of industries so that the migration from villages to metros stops and the difference in development of states goes down and all states can be happy. It will also help in uniform the utilisation of resources of all the places like ground water and air. We need to correct the education system in a way so that it doesn’t produce machines or robots but intelligent humans with humanitarian values rather than being totally focussed for material benefits and with innovative thinking and a thirst for going up not for materialistic benefits but for betterment of fellow citizens. The other area of concern is inefficiency and malpractices in delivery of public services be it police, ration, education, health or any other service. Because there are malpractices in public delivery system, all of our policies are failing and right people are not getting their rights and despite of several policies in place our country and society is not going forward. Inflation needs to keep in check and not by subsidies but by right policies. Subsidies should be provided in areas which directly affect poor people. Another most important point is to that whosoever parliamentarian comes in parliament he must follow parliamentary decorum and should not disrupt parliament because disrupting parliament is like killing government and governance because parliament is highest decision making body and it should take decisions otherwise country will go in policy and decision paralysis. Public should out rightly reject the parliamentarians who are killing the parliament. Law and order situation of the country needs to improve and criminals or politicians supported by criminals must be kept out of power. A mechanism needs to be set in place by which inefficient public servant can be thrown out of the system so that efficiency of public servant increases. On the foreign relation front i am quite satisfied with current government’s policies but new government should try to improve our relations with our neighbours and most important of them is China. Boundary issue with China should be settled so that trust with china can be developed and our defence expenditure can be cut down to utilise it for some other purpose. On the defence side we need to develop more infrastructures to reduce our dependence on foreign machineries. Energy security should be given importance and nuclear technology should be used aggressively for electricity rather than defence purpose because nuclear energy is till now looks to have better future than all the renewable sources combined because all the renewable technology available till now either needs high capital investment with low returns. And in the end railways should be given prime importance because it has suffered most from coalition politics since 1996 and railway is most important source of conveyance for India. It should be made more secure, and more robust. Four lane railways should be employed on busy tracks to increase efficiency of railway and instead of just increasing the number of trains we should focus on increasing the number of rails and other infrastructure.

Why death penalty must be abolished

I have had several discussions with my friends over death penalty with my friends and colleagues and myself on several occasions but none of the times i have thought about it in more articulated view than this time. I still remember the time during summer of 2010 when kasab was sentenced death penalty by a session court to be more precise it was 8/5/2010. I was very happy because after all he killed many of my fellow Indians and it was only justice to ask for his death and the first reaction of normal nationalist Indian i celebrated it. But later on during the next summer when i really started reading newspaper and to be more precise it was “The Hindu”. And after realising how inhumane it is i went against it. But if you give any man the reasoning that giving capital punishment is inhumane his first argument will be why do we only care about the human rights?? Second argument will be that criminal is really inhumane so he doesn’t deserve human rights. But to counter all these arguments i must say remind all that any criminal act is committed against the state and so is every punishment awarded by state. But what is the definition of state?? To be precise what is the definition of India?? Is it the mountains, rivers, plains, sea, sky, stones , trees or land?? Or it’s the government?? Or the people who live in India. The most logical definition of India will include very thing that is contained inside India and most important of them will be people of India. So every punishment given in the name of state is given in the names of Indians. Hence in short if anyone has been awarded death by Indian courts is the murder of that criminal person by all the Indians that includes all of us. Because that man committed an heinous crime against us all so if you think about it at first you will think that its fair because its revenge and we all love revenge. But we are seeking revenge then we can’t be a civilised society. Revenge is something we all like may be because in our movies all the heroes seek revenge or may be it has to do something with human psychology. But revenge is never good and civilised society can never seek revenge. If murder is heinous crime for which someone has got death penalty then why we should all commit it. Hence capital punishment should not be awarded. But the second argument goes that what should we do to criminals who are inhumane? I would say keep them in jail till they are dead. Never let them out because they are dangerous to society so isolate them from the society. Because his any sort of influence on our society can harm us. And that’s the real aim of sending a person to jail. Jail is not about beating or punishing a criminal but jail is about isolating the people who are dangerous for the society and trying to change them so that they are again valuable for society because every life is valuable to us. The other question of death penalty being a deterrent. This theory has already failed on many accounts plus jail for whole life will also serve as equally or more effective deterrent.

The kejriwal phenomenon

While its good that Mr Kejriwal has contested election and that too on good agenda of erradicating corruption is a welcome move and must be lauded because it bought a change atleast in the politics of Delhi. But the problems i have with Mr kejriwal is that he says i am not doing it all for power and change is not possible by sitting outside. By saying this he undermines the great power of non-violence measures like fast. he broke his last fast in 8 days by saying fasts cant acheive anything so we are forced to enter politics. But the reality is that he entered into arena of fast with Anna just to get into politics with a Bang. He wanted a good anti corruption act and drafts a bill which he calls as Jan_lokpal Bill. Now any Lokpal which has any clause different than janlokpal will be a JOKPAL for Arvindji which i think is not good becaus enothiong is perfect and if one reads his Janlokpal carefully then he find that Janlokpal creates a parellel bureucracy which is not accountable to parliament and which has every chance of being corupt. I want to ask him a question that when according to mr kejriwal most of india's bureaucracy and executive is corrupt , how can he assume that the new branch estblished by lokpal will be free from corruption ?? are those people coming from heaven ?? Corruption needs to erradicate from india but to say that its possible only if JAN LOKPAL comes into force will be a lie. I welcome any Lokpal for a start because it can be ammended further anytime. SO lets give it a start and support the lokpal for a start. On coming back to point of power of fast, even englishmen were forced to accept the demands of bhagat singh because of his fast but it continued for 114 days. So a patient and intelligent man never give up if he has no other desire. But kejriwal had other plans thats why he ended his fast. We all know how do they do fast these days. BHagat singh was a true patriot who continued his fast for 114 days in inhumane conditions while this power hungry man broke his fast just after 8 days fater being supervise dby doctors everyday. I am not saying he is corrupt or anything but he only thing i am saying is that he is hungry for power .

India and Bharat

This time in month of July when I was going to visit my maternal uncle who lives in Banda (u.p.).
I took a bus from Manikpur to banda. On my way I passed through one of most underdeveloped region of the country .
I saw banners and posters showing Mrs Babu Lal Kushwaha being inducted in S.P. Babu Lal Kushwaha is prime accused in NHRM scam. It is clear that S.P. is doing this to woo non-yadav obcs of that region but bigger question is why corrupt people still holds vote bank?? Is corruption not an issue for poor of this country??
The answer is very -very simple .There are two countries in this India. One who cares for dollar ,inflation, sensex, GDP etc for other India cast still matters ,and winning bread is more important than all big economic terms. Irony of this country is that those who understand the economy and who lives in 21st century ,they simply don't vote and those who vote  care only about cast.
Now why is so ?? One reason is that the one who is blessed with everything doesn't give his fellow citizen equal respect and doesn't care to stand in a line to vote along with common people.

Another thing is that media ,NGOs and whole civil society doesn't want to focus on basic issue I.e. education . No one in this country want to ir bother to improve the quality of education in government schools and colleges because children of blessed people can study in international public schools because they have money. Even after Right to education which makes it compulsory for international public schools to reserve some seats for poor ,most of the parents oppose it by saying that these poor children will spoil our well educated children .We simply don't treat poor children as children .Some of us care more for the pet than these children .
The simple question I want to ask from this society is that why can't we have those big demonstrations we hold against rape, corruption and other issues and try to bridge that gap between India and Bharat . and even media ,they should focus more on issues related to poor rather than every single tweet of a celebrity. Movies should also depict these things because literature also holds the key for change.
And in doing this we should not limit ourselves by opening one or two schools or hospitals for poor but instead we should utilise our energy for improving government schools. Because poor of this country only wants his due right not charity and we should commit ourselves for this because we are already doing direct help part by paying taxes.

Reasons for failure of Democratic Government

Democratic government as the meaning of word is “A government chosen by people of a nation or community to serve for the benefit of nation or that community, and its people ”.
It is consider as the best form of government .Then where the causes of its failure are, which is happening in India presently.
If it is government of public then surely the root causes of its failure lie or related with people and more importantly Normal people. I am enlightening some of them here in this paragraph:
1) As “Right to cast vote is the most powerful weapon given to a normal people in a democracy “. It is very necessary to use it effectively and efficiently .There should be more voting percentage as seen in recent election in different states where it was above 70 % in all states . Whereas in 2009 general Loksabha election it was only 97%. And everybody can visualize the difference immediately. As in Bengal it destroyed the fort of communists and in Tamilnadu it ended the carrier of Mr Karunanidhi with a victorious AIDMK.
2) The biggest threat to our democracy is “Vote on the basis of cast and religion, language and region” .This divide and rule policy was earlier employed by British to rule India for such a long period.
Even people of our country have seen the formation of Pakistan only on the basis of religion.
Later Pakistan suffered from it in form of formation of Bangladesh , but in later case it was division on the basis of Language rather than religion in earlier case.
Our politicians are also applying the same more efficiently because they know our feelings and sentiments properly.
We have seen this policy in India earlier in 1) General election 1989 where Bhartiya Janta Party won 83 in comparison to 2 seats in General election 1984.Only because of agenda of RAM MANDIR .
They again applied in election of 1991 and with a great advancement which resulted in increment of 17 seats in Lok sabha and assured them government in Uttar Pradesh because Mulayam Singh(chief minister of Uttar Pradesh at that time)used force against people creating riots .This victory of 1991 also resulted in many killings in hindu muslim riots of ayodhya and demolition of Babri Masjid.
2)Second case is popularity of Raj Thakre in Maharastra (case of regionalism).I don’t think I should write more about this as it is very recent so each of us knowabout it.
There are countless examples of these policies in our country the basic example is Giving Ticket to a person of majority community in a particular area.and this one is very common and successful in India.
3) Another threat to our democracy is casting vote for a person who is publicizing himself and using huge amount of money in election .If they are spending money for winning election .Then its crystal clear that they are sowing seeds for their crop in terms of money by spending it in election.
Weather an industrialist will finance their election budget or they are using their own money they will take it back with huge margin.
There are several examples:
1) Distribution of laptops and televisions to people of Tmilnadu (its very common there).
2) Distribution of money to people in assembly election of Bihar by Laloo Prasad Yadav in 2005.
3)We have numorous examples of distributing alcohol to persons in election for their votes.
With increasing corruption this policy also prevents incoming of good ,talented and honest person in our politics because either they don’t have many to spent on election or they don’t want to spent their precious money .
4)Our Mentality:- In ancient times we were being ruled by Kings and also exploited by some of them. Then by British .So after such a long period of being ruled by people with huge money and power. Now Our mind is in a state that it won’t accept a talented person from the root or from one of common man to rule on them (as a common man sees no difference between ruler and an elected person for democracy )
5)In the end I am thankful to the public for showing interests in social news because it gives media (one of the basic pillar of democracy)the T.R.P. which motivates and encourages them for covering
Better news .Some examples of such benefits are :- 1)Life imprisonment to Manu Sharma by supreme and high court who was released by lower court , in Jessica Lal murder case .Popularity of Anna Ji and and company.Revealing of many scams e.t.c.
So I want to conclude that please use your weapon and in a right way for choosing a right person.
Because it is is basic duty of a citizen in democracy. It will allow the flow of honest people. And situations like present political crisis and a period of fasts will never happen again in future. And then only Indians will have the fruits of democracy.

WHY HUNGER STRIKES ARE SO POPULAR:

The increase in recent hunger strikes surely shows that people are interested in them because Indian media is covering them .But now a question arises why so?. Why people of India are supporting a bunch of people instead of democratic government chosen by them.
I want to highlight certain specific reasons:
1) Presently almost every politician is corrupted.
They have forgotten that they are servants of public chosen by public to serve for public not the rulers. I want to enlighten a slogan of BSP in U.P (my native state ) before 2009 Lok Sabha election “U.P TO HUMARI H AB DILLI KI BAARI HAI”. What did they mean by U.P to huamari h .Miss Mayawati is not the queen of U.P .

2) Our laws are so week that people like Afjal Guru and Ajmal Kasab are enjoying peace in jail.
Instead of punishing them we are spending money on their safety.
So if your law are unable to punish a terrorist how it can be able to punish a politician or a powerful person.
3) People are frustrated from poverty ,living condition , inflation .At one hand India claims one of the largest economy of the world and on other hand its rank by recent reports on human development by U.N is around 130.
After 63 years of freedom we are not able to feed the whole country .
The reason behind all these things is same CORRUPTION “the biggest enemy of human rights”.
4) People are sick from talking about corruption on the dining table or in a group so when Mr Anna Hazare reminded them about the most powerful weapon which AHINSA given by mahatma to them .They are using it. At that time Bapu used it for welfare of public and and public followed Bapu. Presently people like Anna ji are using it for the same cause .
There is only one difference Gandhiji used it against alien power but people like Anna ji are using it against government chosen by us.
Its the bed luck of motherland Bharatmata that her own son are raping her.

Till now India helped in maintaining peace in other country but if our politician continuing in same way then “EK din IS MAA KO BACHANE KE LIYE BHI BAHRIYON KO HASTAKSHEP KARNA PADEGA” .
